I would enjoy this app more if I were able to control how much time is spent, if any, on the music video/art/game sections rather than on the path. My son has found those sections and now would rather do those than the path which makes the Homer App not worth it because he isn’t learning which is the point of the app. With a time restriction or maybe earning time to play on those sections after doing a certain amount of path it would be better and more useful. It’s a great app except that you have to be connected to the internet to play.

A lot of money for unusable App
It has fun, entertaining games but also includes a rigorous phonics program, challenging literature, and science field trips. It covers so many topics and the content is educational. My son enjoys the characters and is learning something new everyday. I am disappointed in the material presented to my child.

Hours can be purchased in blocks of time starting at 1 hour, and provide you direct access to a HOMER-certified engineer who can assist in any way required. He has done the best reading ever with this program and we have gone through many programs trying to teach him to read. He is in 2nd grade but so far has been more of a Kindergarten level reader but he has is gaining strides daily with Homer. I do wish it went higher in level for older kids struggling.
Data protection laws in certain jurisdictions differentiate between the “controller” and “processor” of information. I had no idea how much this app or what would be the trial term, but since we tried all day that day and could not be successful, I just gave up. Today I realized that this app is making me pay a monthly fee of $9.99 since two months😳 We have never opened the app, never been able to use, even for once, and paid all those money! My suggestion to all future customers would be to go to their settings and cancel their subscriptions in case that they will face the same problem as we do. Apple chat support warned me that it is not enough to delete an app if it is a subscription even during the trial period. Sorry I am not an insider since I have never been able to use the app but I also don’t believe that I am the only person who faces a such problem so wanted to warn you all.

I have been getting charged from here for almost a year. I will be contacting my bank and emailing this company for a full refund on every dime taken from me I accept a response or I will take this further. Whether your child is in preschool or not, and wherever your child is with knowing letters or numbers, this is worth your money. You can find posts on phonological awareness, explicit teaching of comprehension strategies, what parents should or should not say to emerging readers, and more over here on the blog. Explicit teaching just means that a teacher will teach sound and letter correspondences to children in a direct manner.
The app is great when it wants to work I've had it for almost a month and my daughter tries everyday but it's only worked twice. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear some of the content on HOMER Learn & Grow did not resonate with you. You all charged me for service that I didn't use. I canceled the free trial before it ran out and y'all still charged me $10.
Secondly my daughter is currently doing digraph and split digraph. I was wondering if I can jump forward to that area of phonics and come back to the beginning.
